Preparing your CV for expert review

Use your CV to show relevant subject knowledge, research methods and professional experience. Give the most relevant work sufficient detail; a long academic career does not need to fit on one page.

01. Make relevant work easy to find

Include your current or most recent role, relevant education, selected experience, research projects, publications, and methods. Explain your own contribution to joint work.

02. Identify your coverage

State the policy themes and regions you cover. Describe working languages and methods separately. A public profile or portfolio can add context; LinkedIn is not required.

03. Choose a readable format

The intended application accepts one PDF or DOCX of up to 10 MB. Use a readable, unencrypted document with selectable text where possible. An English CV or English summary is preferred.

04. Remove unnecessary personal data

Leave out home addresses, ID numbers, passport copies, bank details, date of birth, reference contact details, and unrelated sensitive information. Do not include confidential client, employer, or participant data.

05. Check permissions

Ensure you can share project descriptions and affiliation details. Where a project is confidential, use an accurate permitted general description.
